CERTIFIED APARTMENT MANAGER (CAM)

Earn your CAM certification and increase your community's Net Operating Income. NAAEI developed the Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) program to assist apartment industry professionals in advancing their apartment management career. CAM curriculum has been enhanced with Franklin Covey video based courses. 

Earning your CAM allows you to demonstrate that you have the knowledge and ability to manage an apartment community and achieve owners' investment goals.

Certified Apartment Leasing Professional (CALP)

The National Apartment Association Education Institute has renamed the National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP) credential to the Certified Apartment Leasing Professional (CALP) credential.  It's the same great training and credential program, but now has a new name that is consistent with other NAAEI credential programs and includes updates to the curriculum to ensure it is staying up-to-date with current industry trends in leasing.

Earning CALP, your first industry credential, signals to your employer your commitment to a career in residential property management.

Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT)

Maintenance expenses are the single largest controllable element in any operating budget. This course acts as an introduction for new maintenance professionals or as a refresher for the veteran employee, teaching what it takes to run a cost-effective maintenance program.

Earning your Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT) validates your knowledge, enhances your reputation and credibility, boosts your confidence and earns you respect.

The CAMT program is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), a private non-profit organization that administers and coordinates the U.S. voluntary standardization and conformity assessment system.

  • Minimum of 12 months of apartment or rental housing maintenance experience. (This can be obtained while taking the course, you will receive a provisional certificate until this requirement is met.)  
  • Successful completion of all CAMT coursework (totaling 80 hours)
  • Meet all examination standards within 12 months of declaring candidacy
2024 CAMT Dates: February 12-16

CAMT candidates must attend class each day for a total of 5 days. Classes are 8:00am-5:00pm.

Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS)

  • Receive a passing score on the online CAPS exam within the six month candidacy time period

NEW!!! CAPS Direct

CAPS Direct allows you to earn your Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) credential without completing the CAPS coursework, provided you fulfill the following criteria.  

To qualify for CAPS Direct, candidates must meet two of the following three criteria:

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree with a major, minor or concentration in property management or real estate.
  • Hold a current CPM designation.
  • Have over five years of experience as a multi-site portfolio supervisor.

​CAPS Direct is also available to former CAPS credential holders who have allowed their credential to lapse for more than five years.

The cost is $700, which includes the CAPS eBook and initial exam fee.  The exam must be completed successfully within six months of enrollment in CAPS Direct.
